The monopole would, by reason of its size, siting, height & appearance, appear as a prominent and visually obtrusive feature within the street scene and surrounding area. It would therefore have significant adverse impact on the character & visual amenities of the surrounding area, contrary to
DM01 and DM18 of Barnet’s Development Management Policies.
The area already has good mobile connectivity.
A mast in this situation would not be in keeping with the area given that it’s open green space. It will damage the attractive character and look of the park. It will be unsightly & overbearing.
It will be taller than established trees & lamp posts.
Any limited screening from these trees would diminish during autumn and winter months when leaves fall off and make this pole even more visible.
It will be visible from the neighbouring residential dwellings & gardens & appear intrusive & overbearing & affect the visual amenity when viewed from these dwellings. If approved Lawton Road & Armstrong Crescent residents will have to live with the eyesore of a 20-metre mast directly in front their houses with nothing to obstruct their view. It will be visible, overbearing and intrusive
to residents of Westbrook Crescent, Baring Road, Fordham Road (on a hill) and on top of the residents of St James Close.
2 previous applications for a monopole in Victoria Recreation ground have been refused & I fail to understand the logic of submitting an application for a 20m monopole when the previous attempt for a 17.5m monopole was refused.
The proposed development does not meet the criteria laid out under Part 16 A.2(3) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Amendment) (No.2) (England) Order 2016. The proposal would have an adverse impact resulting specifically from the ‘siting’ & ‘appearance’ of the
telecoms equipment proposed.
